How AccuRanker Determines Search Intent with AI

Post by Ashik Sarkar9 »

The following article gives you an overview of AccuRanker's new AI-powered search intent feature.

To better understand this article, we recommend that you first read our other article: What is search intent? In it, you will learn that we classify the search intent that Google is targeting by looking more at the SERP (search engine results page) than at the keyword. oman telegram You will also learn why search intent can change over time and that it is possible to have multiple intents for the same SERP/keyword.

For the rest of this article, we'll refer to a SERP/keyword pair as a keyword for short, even though a keyword can have multiple SERPs.

Introduction
Search intent is a nuanced topic. And establishing a set of fixed rules to find the intent that Google is targeting for a given keyword is nearly impossible. Fortunately, advances in the field of AI and machine learning over the past decade make it possible to apply new methods. We now have the right tools to use the massive amounts of SERP data that AccuRanker processes on a daily basis to “train” a machine learning model.

Behind the search intent model
As training data for the new search intent model, we used a combination of unlabeled and hand-labeled data. This dataset consists of search intent for keywords labeled by human experts combined with corresponding SERP data. Using machine learning techniques, patterns emerge. These patterns are translated into a model that can be used to find search intent for keywords outside of the training dataset.

Using a machine learning model allows you to predict search intent more accurately than rule-based approaches. However, achieving 100% accuracy is impossible for many reasons. Some of these reasons are:

Even humans (up to 40%) looking at SERPs disagree about search intent.
SERPs can display multiple intents.
There is not always 100% alignment in defining the different categories of search intent.
We have attempted to outline AccuRanker's definitions with examples . By using these definitions and evaluating the machine learning model against these labels, we are able to achieve over 90% agreement with hand-labeled data. And we often tend to agree more with the machine learning model than the human label when reviewing the differences.

What characteristics determine search intent?
AccuRanker's new search intent model uses over a hundred SERP features to figure out search intent. These features are interdependent, so it's not easy to explain in detail how they work. If that were the case, we might as well use a rule-based approach.

Features include special words (translated into multiple languages) in keywords, titles, URLs, and descriptions, as well as SERP features and other SERP metadata such as cost per click and AdWords competition.

One way to understand the new search intent model is to look at SHAP visualizations of how features affect the model's output in different cases.

AccuRanker Introduces Workspaces to Boost Access Control
Last updated Thursday, July 11, 2024

AccuRanker is proud to introduce its latest update, AccuRanker Workspaces and Advanced User Management, designed to provide greater user access control to large organizations. This new feature allows administrators to effectively manage permissions, ensuring that users can only access the specific groups and domains that correspond to their roles. With this update, AccuRanker prioritizes security and ease of use, streamlining rank tracking processes while maintaining strict access controls.

Highlights
AccuRanker Workspaces
AccuRanker Workspaces allow administrators to control which groups, and therefore which domains, each user can access. This ensures that users only see the domains relevant to their work, improving efficiency and security.

Automatic "All Groups" workspace: All administrators and superusers in your organization automatically belong to the "All Groups" workspace, which provides access to all tracked domains.
Customizable Workspaces: Create additional workspaces to define groups of domains for specific user needs. Each account allows up to two workspaces. If you require more, please contact our customer service or your account manager for a quote.
Advanced user management
With new user management features, administrators can manage users more effectively by assigning them specific roles and permissions.

User Roles: Users can have one of four roles: Administrator, Super User, Write User, or Read User. Each role determines the actions a user can perform.

Migration strategy
To ensure a smooth transition to the new system, we have implemented the following migration strategy:

Current Admin Users: All current admin users will retain their admin status.
Other Users: All other users will be designated as Super Users. This means they will have access to the All Groups workspace, ensuring they still have full access to the domain.
Deepening the workspaces
Improved organization and security
Workspaces allow you to categorize domains for easier management, improve user experience by displaying only relevant domains, and increase security by controlling access to sensitive domain data. Think of groups as folders that categorize multiple domains for easier management. Not only does this streamline workflow, but it also ensures that sensitive information is only available to the right people.

Creating and managing workspaces
Creating a workspace in AccuRanker is easy, as long as you are an administrator or superuser. Here's how:

Access workspaces from the Account menu in the navigation menu.
Select "Add Workspace" to open the workspace creation modal.
Define parameters and add multiple groups and users to the workspace.
Edit user access by selecting the edit icon.
For a detailed guide on creating and managing workspaces with permissions, see our AccuRanker Workspaces: Organizing User Access to Keyword Groups section .

User Roles and Permissions
AccuRanker supports four user roles, each with specific permissions. Administrators and superusers will always have access to the “All Groups” workspace, which gives them full access to all domains. In combination with workspaces, you can control which groups (and therefore domains) each user can access.

Add new users
To add new users

Access users from the Account Menu in the navigation menu.
Select "Add User" to open the user creation modal.
Enter the user's name, email address, role, and assigned workspace(s).
Modify the user role and workspace assignments within the users table or by selecting the edit icon.

AccuRanker Workspace is designed to give you more control and security over your SEO data and user access. With AccuRanker’s workspaces and advanced user management, you can streamline your workflow, improve organization, and ensure only the right people have access to sensitive data. We look forward to seeing how you use these tools to streamline your workflow and achieve your SEO goals.
