More than 50 cloud service providers from 12 European countries were competing for the awards. A first selection process was carried out in each country, allowing the national winners to submit their candidacy for the European awards. The ceremony took place in the context of the annual Eurocloud European Congress held on 8 and 9 October, which brought together the most important professionals and experts in cloud computing.
“The services and success ig data stories offered by the winners are an impressive demonstration of the scope and quality of cloud services available in Europe today,” said Bernd Becker, CEO of EuroCloud Germany and Vice President of EuroCloud Europe. “We are very pleased that the Eurocloud Europe Awards have established themselves as an institution in the industry.”
The following companies were awarded in each category:
Best cloud product/service: PingFederate 6.6 (GB)
Best Start-up: Zyncro (ES)
Best private sector success story: Infopark Cloud Express (DE)
Best public administration success story: E-Gov Portal Services (Portal Austria) (AT)
Best increase in efficiency of cloud services use: CE On-Demand with integrated Communication and Collaboration platform based on Microsoft Exchange 2010 for the Hungarian Water Rescue Service (HU).

The winners of the EuroCloud Awards were selected by a jury of 12 cloud experts. The awards were presented on Monday during the 2012 European Cloud Awards Gala at the annual EuroCloud Europe conference in Luxembourg.
Pedro Prestel, President of EuroCloud Spain, says: “I am particularly proud of the Spanish winner, Zyncro, as the best Start-up, and of the quality of the candidates presented by Spain.”
The 2013 edition of the congress will be held for the third consecutive year in Luxembourg on 15 and 16 October 2013.
