It takes courage to take something from list of barbados consumer email scratch and turn it into something bigger than yourself. Leaving a mark not only by helping to build one of the best digital marketing consultancies, but also by leaving a mark on each of the members of their teams. Today, with each of their words, they have left us with lessons that are important to share with future leaders of Interius and Mexico .
Lessons they have learned
Self -improvement, challenging and learning about themselves is part of their daily lives, both in their personal and professional lives. Our SELF-MADE LEADERS have had to unlearn and overcome the insecurities they acquired throughout their lives to get to where they are now.
As leaders, they say that the most valuable lesson they have learned is to let go and trust others . Especially when leading a team, as Mariana Garcia (SEO Sr. Consultant) mentions , “I had a hard time trusting people and here at Interius I have realized that there are incredible people, all of them are very capable .

Interius has been a great help to them, providing them with a space where they can reinvent themselves and transform their environment to make it better and better for their teams, even when there may be mistakes.

Challenges they face
Each lesson that one has learned is because they have overcome an important challenge in their life and as their name suggests, our SELF-MADE LEADERS have had a very high bar to overcome . From being in an area where it was not related to their career, as Sofia Elizondo (Office Management Executive) mentions, “Interius was a turning point for me, because it was not related to what I studied .”
Losing your main leader, as Mariela Coronel (Inbound Marketing Manager) comments , “when my boss left I had super fast growth, because I needed to be at the level of the new position I had .”
Until we went through a pandemic, as Anilú de Lachica (Paid Media Sr. Consultant) told us , “For me it was the pandemic because I loved going to the office. The whole digital world changed from one moment to the next . ”
There are many more different challenges for our leaders ; however, at the end of the day this helped them find the best in themselves and what they could contribute to the team, as Mariana comments, “The fact that they challenged me, trusting in my abilities, helped me enhance what I already had and develop new skills . ”
Word that describes a SELF-MADE LEADER
The word “empathy” was repeated and resounded a lot, as it sums up several of their answers. Our leaders have learned to listen, to be motivators and as Francinne Porte (Content Marketing Consultant) mentions , “You always have to put yourself in other people’s shoes, because you can’t react before hearing the context . ”
They believe that a mistake that many leaders make is “Seeing things from their perspective, from their lenses and never putting themselves in the other person's shoes . ” (Mariana García, 2023)
As drivers of change, they have also learned about leadership and empowerment among themselves , observing what they see every day among their different areas and colleagues.

Being a leader in Mexico
A study conducted by the Statista Research Department mentions that in Mexico 40.1% are professional women and according to the report “Women in Business 2022” 33 % hold management positions in Mexico. We mentioned to our leaders that they belonged to both percentages and most of the responses were related to the fact that they felt a great responsibility in themselves.
Especially to create more spaces for the percentage in Mexico to continue increasing, “It is a lot of responsibility to know what we can do to not be the only professional woman , because we must encourage that number to continue growing and how with our work we can show that we can.” (Mariela Coronel, 2023)
As Anilú de Lachica mentions, “In the end it is not just anything , if we are part of that percentage, I have more desire to continue developing myself and also developing more women . ”
Something we loved about our conversation with Mariana Garcia, which is a topic worth discussing, is the fact that many women are judged for being ambitious and she shared her perspective on the matter.

Tips from a SELF-MADE LEADER
If we could take something from this article, it would be the lessons that our leaders have shared with us. Today, we want to give the future leaders of Interius and Mexico the advice that they have given us and motivated us.
Melissa López (Digital Strategy Manager):
“Do not lose the ability to reinvent yourself as many times as necessary as leaders and women”
“You can always change your path, you can always question who you say you are, to really find out who you are and that is where you find your purpose, the best part of yourself and the place that will make you happy. This doesn’t happen overnight, it is something that requires time and dedication, but I believe that life is for that, to find our paths.
