Why blue? Because it's a color that I really like that is part of my charter. Through my colorful universe, I try to create my trademark, let's say. Personally, I prefer to limit the colors in my drawings. I find that it makes the atmosphere more coherent. I mainly use 4 or 5 colors for which I will choose a percentage of color. For example, the illustrations that I create for my newsletters, I will not change the colors. They will all have the same tone to maintain consistency.
Playing with colors is not the easiest thing. But with practice, I'm getting better and better at it. Before, I dabbled in a bit of everything, but for the past year, I've really been trying to find my style, my touch. Because when you're an illustrator, we work with you for your universe.

A bit everywhere! I am very cambodia whatsapp observant on a daily basis. You see, while I am talking to you I am looking at the flowery hats behind you. I also analyze what my colleagues are doing. I really like the work of Tristan Gion, Jacques & Lise and Federica Fabbian. I observe what works, what I like. It inspires me for my own illustrations.
I need to really know my client. My role is to transcribe their DNA and values into images. And for that, they have to entrust them to me. So, I don't start a project without having been able to talk with the person. We meet for a coffee and if that's not possible, we call each other. Then, I send each person a short questionnaire with fairly specific questions to get to know them even better.
For me, each project is a collaboration. We are not two entities, we work together. I make proposals to my client, we think together and we go back and forth to find the best visual. I want my graphic design or illustration to look like him and for him to recognize himself. Sometimes, I do not have the same perception of the client and his company as he does. That is why I never send my proposals without explanation. Each sketch has its concept. For example, if I make 3 logos, each will have a different concept depending on the keywords that define my client.
I don't want to represent reality. That's not my goal. I want to create an imaginary universe, a little out of reality.
