Why use custom reports?

Post by sakib60 »

Obviously, it depends on what you want to analyze. Here are some examples:

1. To analyze how the content on your website or blog performs, grouping it by topic or category. You'll need to create a custom report for each category or topic, specifying in "Filter": landing page + the tag or keyword that appears in the URL of each category country email list or topic, such as "regular expression." For example, if I want to analyze how many sessions and users my blog's Facebook content registers, which posts are most viewed, and through which channels they arrive, I'll create a report with the following settings:

Filter -> Landing Page -> Regular Expression -> Facebook.
“Most Read Posts” tab with session and user metrics and the landing page or page title dimension.
“Acquisition Channels” tab with the sessions and users metrics and the default channel grouping, source, medium, and referral path dimensions (plus page title if I want to know which specific post each path leads to).
2. To find out which organic search keywords are leading to each page of your website or blog and improve your SEO analysis . The setup would be:

Filter -> Media -> Regular Expression -> Organic.
Metric groups: users and sessions.
Dimension Breakdown: Page Title and Keywords.
