Meritxell Muñoz, IM student and Senior Marketing & Digital Business Manager at Eden Springs

Post by rabia198 »

A graduate in Psychology and passionate about human behavior, Meritxell Muñoz ended up specializing in a sector she was already passionate about: Digital Marketing. She currently works for Agua Edén as Senior Marketing & Digital Business Manager, managing the digital strategy for EMEA, a company where she has been working for 12 years. If you'd like to learn more about her story, keep reading.

A graduate in Psychology, what initially attracted you to this career?
I was interested in understanding people's impulses, what drives them to make one decision over another, and better understanding different types of thinking and differences in communication and language. I've always been drawn to communication and reasoning, and this program provided me with a wealth of knowledge that I've been able to apply later in my professional career.

You then specialized in Marketing Management. What prompted this change? Did your background in psychology help you better understand concepts like persuasion?
Of course, I didn't really panama mobile database change; I specialized. Psychology goes beyond disorders; it studies human behavior, decision-making, reactions to stimuli, language, communication... Even when I started my degree, I knew I didn't want to dedicate myself to clinical psychology, but that these studies would open many doors for me. Marketing had been my passion long before that; I just took a different path.

You started working in Retail Marketing for American Nike. What were your responsibilities and what did you learn from this experience?
I was mainly in charge of implementing the point-of-sale campaigns you all saw on television and in the press. It was a very fun and interesting job, deciding which image to display in each window, which image to use in each lightbox in the different stores in Spain and Portugal based on their shopping habits, affinities (with a certain athlete from the local team), and so on. I loved seeing how, depending on the placement of the different items, you could guide the consumer through the store to make the final purchase.

Then you started working for Agua Edén, a company you've been with for over 10 years. How did this opportunity come about? Did you imagine you'd be here for so long?
I was offered the opportunity to join Agua Eden in 2007, and I didn't hesitate. I wanted to try a different type of marketing, and I could do so here. The best thing is that being a small, local department, you can experiment a lot; you have to make the most of every euro you have, so you have to be tremendously imaginative. If in 2007 you had told me that 12 years later I'd still be here, I wouldn't have believed it, but I've been lucky enough to grow alongside this multinational, where I've felt rewarded for my efforts and highly valued. Currently, I no longer work locally; instead, I'm in charge of digital strategy for all of EMEA, so I think it was a good idea to accept that small challenge in 2007, right.
