Google's August spam update is nearing completion

Post by Sumona1030 »

After nearly a month of operation, John Müller indicated yesterday that the August spam update is expected to end today (September 22, 2025). In a LinkedIn post, he already alerted the online community that the evaluation of its impact could begin.

While the biggest changes will likely become visible with the official completion of the update, smaller adjustments in the days following cannot be ruled out. For webmasters, this means that the longest period of ranking fluctuations should soon be over.

The new Google Store Widget: Trust for online shops
Google has released a new Store Widget namibia cell phone database that helps online retailers build customer trust. The widget can be easily integrated into any online store page using JavaScript and evaluates the store's quality based on various criteria—including customer service, shipping, and payment methods offered.

Depending on the performance level of the shop, the widget appears in different variants:

“Retailer with Top Quality”: awarded to shops with excellent ratings
“Merchant Rating”: shows a summary of customer ratings for solid but not outstanding performance
“Merchant Quality”: is displayed if no customer reviews are available yet
The introduction of the widget allows retailers to visibly highlight their credibility and service quality. At the same time, they should keep potential data protection concerns in mind when integrating it.

Meta strengthens algorithm control for users
In the future, Instagram users will be able to actively influence their content by using keywords to indicate which topics they prefer or would like to avoid. Meta is also testing a similar feature on threads: By tagging @threads.algo, users can directly influence the algorithm.

Both features are currently in a limited testing phase. The goal is to strengthen individual control over the feed—complementing existing tools like the "I'm not interested" button.
